This musical tells the story of the princess who couldn't cry.   Her parents want to find someone who can make her cry so she can be like everyone else.   They devise a contest with the winner being allowed to marry the princess.   The losers lose their heads.   Needless to say, the first two suitors don't accomplish their mission but the last one does in an ingenious way and wins the hand of the princess.
